 How does the league work?

Each time a poker event takes place, all the regular society members that are involved in the event must put £1.00 in the society league pot, this is collected over a twelve month period, from January to December, each year. On each event regular players have the chance to gain League Points towards there league standing. 

Then on the last Friday before Christmas Day the top ten members (which includes ex regular members) play the final event of the year called the 'Tournament of Champions' the members at the top of the league table at the end of this event will win a share of the Wrexham Poker Society League Pot, the amount each member receives is detailed in the table below.

How does the points system work?

For ring games, the number of regular members involved and how much each of them cashes out determines how many points are awarded to each regular member, the regular member who cashes out the most (makes the most profit) gains the number of regular members involved in points, the next highest cash out gets one less point and so on, for example, if five regular members turn up for a ring game and regular member 'one' cashed out the most he/she would get five points, then if regular member 'two' cashed out the next highest amount he/she would get four points and so on.

For tournaments, the number of regular members involved and what position each of them finish determines how many points are awarded to each regular member, the regular member who finishes in first place gains the number of regular members involved in points, the regular member who finished second place gains one less point and so on, for example, if ten regular members turn up for a tournament first place would get ten points, second place would get nine points, third place eight points and so on.
